I. Solution Objectives - Ensuring the Security of Core Data Assets

In the context of accelerating digital transformation, the amount of core database data in many enterprise IT systems is rapidly expanding, unstructured data is growing exponentially, and the degree of workload virtualization is as high as 90% or more, with a large number of virtual machines. In order to effectively respond to various threats such as system hardware and software failures, ransomware attacks, and human errors, traditional backups face huge challenges, including the inability to back up massive amounts of data, difficulty in recovery, a large impact on production performance during the backup process, and large investments in backup construction.
The integrated backup solution integrates backup software, backup server, and backup storage into one. It combines storage snapshot backup, incremental backup second-level synthesis, and instant mounting technologies for the three core application data of database, virtualization, and file system to achieve extreme acceleration, efficient backup, and fast recovery for enterprise data protection. Help companies shorten RPO and RTO and protect the security of core data assets.

 

II. Data Backup Difficulties

High production occupancy: Application snapshots, differential scanning, multi-channel transmission, source-side deduplication, high host resource occupancy, and large impact on production business performance during backup
●  Long backup time: Large amount of virtual machine data, slow backup speed, unable to complete backup within the time window; slow scanning and data transmission speed, long backup time

III. Product Architecture

The solution adopts a three-in-one integrated architecture to achieve extreme acceleration, efficient backup, and fast recovery. The integrated backup integrates backup software, backup server, and backup storage into one, one set is equivalent to multiple sets. Data transmission does not go through intermediate layers such as software and is directly written to the backup storage. The three layers of data transmission (client->software->storage) are changed to two layers (client IO direct storage), which improves backup and recovery efficiency. For the three core applications of database, virtualization, and file system, combined with storage snapshot backup, incremental backup second-level synthesis, and instant mounting technologies, it realizes "zero" impact backup on the production host, end-to-end global deduplication saves bandwidth and storage space, backup data is instantly available, and accurate recovery provides protection for enterprise data protection.
